Artist spotlight edition: WD40

Artist spotlight edition: WD40

Standing at 6feet5 inches, its easy to mistake 40 for some type of athlete- but he is a reggae artist that is really more of a musical warrior. By looking at him, one sees the picture of health- a man who jogs miles accross the FDR religiously* Its hard to imagine that he endured 8 gunshot wounds to the body only a short time ago. WD40 is unbreakable. It is that unbreakable spirit that he brings to his writing, that esssence of truth and power that is able to resonate internationally.

I don’t regret the painful times; I bare my scars as if they were medals.

~ Paulo Coelho Quotes from The Zahir

I believe that what truly makes an artist great goes deep beyond an image or the selling of facade. I believe that it is the power and essence of vast life experiences that make for the most intersting of people. Often, when faced with hardship, one has no choice but to surrendor to one’s true self – which truly makes for the greatest art.

Born and raised in Jamaica, but NYC based, WD40 is here to stay.

Every Warrior of the Light has felt afraid of going into battle.

Every Warrior of the Light has, at some time in the past, lied or betrayed someone.

Every Warrior of the Light has trodden a path that was not his.

Every Warrior of the Light has suffered for the most trivial of reasons. Every Warrior of the Light has, at least once, believed he was not a Warrior of the Light.

Every Warrior of the Light has failed in his spiritual duties.

Every Warrior of the Light has said ‘yes’ when he wanted to say ‘no.’

Every Warrior of the Light has hurt someone he loved.

That is why he is a Warrior of the Light, because he has been through all this and yet has never lost hope of being better than he is.

~ Paulo Coelho Quotes from Warrior of the Light

I don’t regret the painful times; I bare my scars as if they were medals.
