History Her-story of Women: The ‘Magdalene’
Being that I am named after Mary Magdalene, I have had a life long fascination with her and have researched her story with every chance I get. I discovered at a young age the lies and misinterpretations surronding her story – at least the version they taiught me at my catholic elementary school. I think of her as a deputy of the Goddess, an iconic female heroin.
There is so little about her in the Bible, yet she was such an integral chacter in the cast of Jesus’ life. But before I go full out history lesson on you, I wish to pay tribute to the Goddess that is Mary Magdalene. She demonstrates to me the power of a woman’s love, strength and capacity for wisdom and understanding that is unique to the feminine spirit.
